This RemitFinder Privacy Policy (this “Policy”) details the types of personal information that RemitFinder, LLC, a California limited liability company (“RemitFinder,” “Company,” “we” and “our”) may collect, process, and/or disclose when you access or use www.remitfinder.com (the “Website”), our mobile applications on Android and iOS, RemitFinder and Remittance Exchange Rates (the “App(s)”), our artificial intelligence tools, including, but not limited to, RemitGPT available through ChatGPT (the “AI Tools”), our APIs and comparison databases, and all related widgets, tools, data, software and other technologies and tools provided by us from time to time, including any future products or services and those offered through the Website, Apps or AI Tools (collectively, the “Services”), and our practices for processing that personal information.
Please read this Policy carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding your personal information. By using or registering with our Services, you acknowledge that your personal information will be collected, used, processed and disclosed as outlined in this Policy, and you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, you should discontinue use of RemitFinder and the Services.
This Policy hereby incorporates by reference our “Terms of Use” located at https://www.remitfinder.com/termsOfUse. Any capitalized terms used in this Policy and not defined herein shall have the meanings given to them in our Terms of Use.
1) Personal Information We Collect and How We Collect It.
a) The term "personal information" as used in this Policy means information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with you. Personal information does not include information that is publicly available or deidentified.
b) We and our vendors may collect personal information from and about users of our Services from the following categories of sources:
i. Directly from you when you provide it to us.
ii. Automatically when you access or use the Services.
iii. From our vendors who help us provide the Services such as Facebook, Plausible, Apple, OpenAI, Google, Amazon and others.
c) Personal Information You Provide to Us. When you sign up for an Account, we ask you to provide personal information such as your name, email address and encrypted password, or social login information, and other information requested or provided from time to time. We process additional personal information when you use the Services, such as your user reviews and feedback, and messages when you communicate via the Services.
i. Categories of the Personal Information we may get from you includes: (1) Identifiers, such as name, email address, phone number, online account identifiers, Internet Protocol address, and other similar identifiers, and (2) Records and copies of your correspondence, including email addresses, push notifications and WhatsApp messages, and if you contact us or leave a review. We may also ask you for personal information when you report a problem with the Services or any content or vendors thereon.
d) Personal Information Collected Automatically. We and our vendors use cookies, web beacons, pixels, SDKs, tags and other similar technologies (collectively, “Cookies”) to collect personal information when you interact with our Services. These Cookies may collect personal information about your usage and activities (such as your IP address and device identifier, the browser you are using, length and time of visit and pages visited), geolocation data and details about how you interact with our Services. This data is used by us and our vendors for various purposes, including to: operate, enable and improve our Services; analyze usage and performance; track bugs and errors; verify account credentials and enable logins; and identify fraud, as well as protect and secure our Services.

e) Personal Information Collected From Our Vendors. We and our vendors may collect personal information about you from third-party sources that help us provide, authenticate, verify, analyze and secure the Services. This includes: (i) Authentication and login providers such as Facebook, Apple and Google, from which we may receive identifiers (such as your name, email address, and/or unique user ID) when you choose to sign up or log in using your account with these services; (ii) Analytics and security vendors, such as Plausible and Google, which may share aggregated or device-related information (such as IP address ranges or fraud indicators); (iii) cloud, hosting and infrastructure vendors like Amazon; (iv) messaging and notification vendors; (v) compliance and technology providers; and (vi) AI processing providers, such as OpenAI (for RemitGPT and similar AI Tools), which may receive user inputs, prompts, or conversation data when you use these features (OpenAI processes this data in accordance with their privacy policy (available at https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy); note that OpenAI may use such content to improve their models unless you opt out via your OpenAI account settings). We only receive the personal information from these vendors that is necessary to provide, maintain, and secure the Services, and we process it in accordance with this Policy and any applicable agreements with such vendors.
2) Use of Personal Information We Collect. We may use the personal information we collect from you in the following ways:
a) To set up and verify your Account with us. However, you may use certain features of RemitFinder services without creating an Account.
b) To provide and operate the Website, Apps, AI Tools and Services.
c) To enable you to sign up for notifications and other alerts.
d) To enable you to provide feedback and reviews.
e) Account updates, product updates, daily foreign-exchange alerts (if enabled) and occasional newsletters.
f) To process and manage your account and preferences.
g) To personalize your user experience and to allow us to deliver the type of content and offerings in which you are most interested, including that which is based on data you have provided to us.
h) To deliver messages and other services and content you request and send information related to your Account and the Services, including confirmations, technical notices, updates, security alerts, support and administrative messages.
i) To conduct an aggregated analysis of the performance of our Services, including referral data if you arrive at our Services from an external source.
j) To provide, maintain, improve and secure the Services.
k) To conduct our business-related operations and functions, including preventing fraud, security, and legal reasons.
l) For other internal business purposes such as recordkeeping and risk management.
3) How We Disclose Personal Information We Collect. We may disclose personal information as follows:
a) With our vendors. We may disclose your personal information to service providers that perform services on our behalf, such as analytics, authentication and hosting providers, service providers that perform services on your behalf, money transfer providers and eSIM providers, and other third parties as updated or integrated from time to time.
b) If we sell or transfer all or a portion of our business assets. We may disclose personal information when we do a business deal, or negotiate a business deal, involving the sale or transfer of all or a part of our business or assets. These deals can include any merger, financing, acquisition, or bankruptcy transaction or proceeding.
c) To respond to lawful requests and legal processes.
d) To protect the rights and property of RemitFinder, our agents, customers, and others. This includes enforcing our agreements, policies, and Terms of Use.
e) In an emergency. This includes protecting the safety of our employees and agents, our customers, or any person.
f) With those who need it to do work for us.
4) Data Retention. We endeavor to retain your personal information for as long as your Account is active or as needed to provide you the Services, or where we have an ongoing legitimate business need. Additionally, we will retain and use your personal information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can request deletion of your active Account via contacting us at info@remitfinder.com and providing your email, name, and authorized deletion request. If you delete or request deletion of your account, your Personal Information will be deleted except as otherwise required by law, and your reviews and other data will be deidentified and may be used by the Company in accordance with this Policy.
5) Security of Your Personal Information. Safeguarding personal information is very important to us. While no systems or websites are 100% secure, we take reasonable and appropriate steps to help protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. To help us protect personal information, we request that you use a strong password and never disclose your password to anyone or use the same password with other sites or accounts, applications, or websites. We recommend avoiding inputting sensitive personal or financial information into AI Tools, as data sent to third-party providers like OpenAI is subject to their processing and retention practices.
6) Sales and Sharing of Personal Information. We do not sell or share personal information as defined under applicable U.S. state privacy laws, including for monetary consideration or cross-context behavioral advertising.
7) U.S. User Privacy Rights.
a) Although we may not be subject to all US state data privacy laws due to applicability thresholds, we strive to operate in a transparent manner and to honor applicable privacy rights. Where required by law, you may have certain rights such as:
i. Right to Know/Access (Categories): You may have the right to request we disclose to you the categories of personal information about you that we collected, including:
1. the categories of sources from which personal information was collected;
2. the business or commercial purposes for collecting, selling, sharing, or disclosing personal information;
3. the categories of third parties to whom we disclosed personal information;
4. the categories of personal information that we sold, and for each category identified, the categories of third parties to which we sold that particular category of personal information;
5. the categories of personal information that we disclosed for a business purpose in the prior 12 months, and for each category identified, the categories of recipients to which we disclosed that particular category of personal information.
ii. Right to Know/Access (Specifics): You may have the right to request we disclose to you free of charge the specific pieces of personal information we collected about you.
iii. Right to Delete: You may have the right to request we delete personal information we collected from you, unless applicable laws recognize an exception.
iv. Right to Correct: You may have the right to request that we correct the personal information we have about you if you believe that information is inaccurate.
v. Right to Opt-Out of Sales: You may have the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information. To opt out, please contact us, or have your authorized agent contact us at, info@remitfinder.com.
vi. Right to Limit Use and Disclosure of Sensitive personal information: You may have the right to direct us to limit our use and disclosure of your sensitive personal information to only what is necessary to perform the Services or Website reasonably expected by an average consumer who requests those, or for other limited purposes expressly permitted by law (such as detecting security incidents, protecting against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity, or ensuring physical safety). Note that certain exceptions may apply, and we may continue to use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes expressly permitted by law even after a limitation request.
vii. Right to appeal: If you are unsatisfied with our decision not to take action on your request to exercise one of your privacy rights, you may appeal our decision.
b) Shine the Light: California's "Shine the Light" law permits California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. However, we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. If you are a California resident, you may request information about our compliance with the Shine the Light law by contacting us at info@remitfinder.com. Any such request must include "California Shine the Light Request" in the first line of the description and include your name, street address, city, state, and ZIP code. Please note that we are only required to respond to one request per customer each calendar year.
c) To exercise any of the above privacy rights, you or your authorized agent may contact us at info@remitfinder.com. If you decide to exercise any of the privacy rights described above, we won’t discriminate against you including but not limited to pricing, quality and service, and we may require additional information so we can verify your request.
8) GDPR and EU Data Privacy Rights.
a) We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We collect, process, and use your personal data in accordance with applicable data privacy laws and regulations.
b) To the extent provided under law, you may have the following rights:
i. Right to Confirmation - You have the right to obtain confirmation from us as to whether or not personal data concerning you is being processed.
ii. Right to Access - You have the right to obtain from us information about your personal data stored at any time and a copy of this information. Furthermore, you will have access to the following information: the purposes of the processing; the categories of personal data concerned; the recipients or categories of recipients to whom the personal data have been or will be disclosed, in particular recipients in third countries or international organizations; where possible, the period for which the personal data will be stored, or, if not possible, the criteria used to determine that period; the existence of the right to request from us rectification or erasure of personal data, or restriction of processing of personal data concerning you, or to object to such processing; the existence of the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; where the personal data are not collected directly from you, any available information as to their source; and the existence of automated decision-making, including profiling, referred to in Article 22(1) and (4) of the GDPR and, at least in those cases, meaningful information about the logic involved, as well as the significance and envisaged consequences of such processing for you.
iii. Right to Rectification – You have the right to obtain from us, without undue delay, the rectification of inaccurate personal data concerning you. Taking into account the purposes of the processing, you shall have the right to have incomplete personal data completed, including by means of providing a supplementary statement.
iv. Right to Erasure (Right to be Forgotten) – You have the right to obtain from us the erasure of personal data concerning you as soon as possible, and we shall have the obligation to erase personal data without undue delay where one of the following grounds applies: the personal data is no longer necessary in relation to the purposes for which they were collected or otherwise processed; you withdraw consent to which the processing is based according to point (a) of Article 6(1) of the GDPR, or point (a) of Article 9(2) of the GDPR, and where there is no other legal ground for the processing; the data subject objects to the processing pursuant to Article 21(1) of the GDPR and there are no overriding legitimate grounds for the processing, or the data subject objects to the processing pursuant to Article 21(2) of the GDPR; the personal data has been unlawfully processed; the personal data must be erased for compliance with a legal obligation in accordance with the applicable law to which we are subject; and/or the personal data has been collected in relation to the offer of information society services referred to in Article 8(1) of the GDPR.
v. Right to Restrict Processing – You have the right to obtain from us restriction of processing where one of the following applies: the accuracy of the personal data is contested by you, for a period enabling us to verify the accuracy of the personal data; the processing is unlawful and you oppose the erasure of the personal data and requests instead the restriction of their use instead; we no longer need the personal data for the purposes of the processing, but it is required for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims; and/or the data subject has objected to processing pursuant to Article 21(1) of the GDPR pending the verification whether the legitimate grounds of ours override those of the data subject.
vi. Right to Object – You have the right to object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, at any time, to the processing of personal data concerning you, which is based on point (e) or (f) of Article 6(1) of the GDPR. This also applies to profiling based on these provisions. We shall no longer process the personal data in the event of the objection, unless we can demonstrate lawful grounds for the processing, which override the interests, rights and freedoms of you, or for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims.
vii. Rights to Data Portability – You have the right to receive the personal data concerning you, which you provided to us, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and have the right to transmit that data to another controller, where technically feasible, without hindrance from the controller to which the personal data have been provided, where: the processing is based on consent pursuant to point (a) of Article 6(1) or point (a) of Article 9(2) or on a contract pursuant to point (b) of Article 6(1); and the processing is carried out by automated means.
viii. Rights Related to Automated Decision-Making and Profiling – You have the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing, including profiling, which produces legal effects concerning you, or similarly significantly affects you, as long as the decision (1) is not necessary for entering into, or the performance of, a contract between you and us, or (2) is not authorized by the applicable law and which also lays down suitable measures to safeguard your rights and freedoms and legitimate interests, or (3) is not based on your explicit consent. If the decision (X) is necessary for entering into, or the performance of, a contract between you and us, or (Y) it is based on your explicit consent, we shall implement suitable measures to safeguard your rights and freedoms and legitimate interests, at least the right to obtain human intervention on the part of the controller, to express their point of view and contest the decision.
ix. Right to Withdraw Consent - You have the right to withdraw your consent to processing of your personal data at any time.

If you decide to exercise any of the privacy rights described above, we won’t discriminate against you including but not limited to pricing, quality and service, and we may require additional information so we can verify your request.
d) We are entitled to transfer your personal data to third parties abroad or internationally for the purposes of the data processing described in this Policy. This includes but is not limited to: affiliates, agents, subsidiaries, and third-party service providers. They are obliged to protect data privacy to the same extent as we ourselves. If the level of data protection in a given country does not correspond to the GDPR data protection levels, we will require protection of your personal data corresponding to the GDPR at all times.

f) For transfers of personal data from the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or to countries without an adequacy decision, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission to ensure appropriate safeguards. The SCCs include: (i) the data exporter and importer agree to the clauses in Module One (Controller to Controller) or as applicable; (ii) the parties ensure compliance with GDPR requirements for data protection; and (iii) the importer will notify the exporter of any inability to comply with the clauses or if subject to a binding request for disclosure by public authorities. 9) Third-Party Disclosure and Links. The Services may include links or integrations that lead to other websites and software platforms whose privacy practices may differ from those of RemitFinder including, but not limited to, third-party websites used to provide products, services and offers to you. If you use any of these third-party sites, your information is governed by their privacy notices. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any third-parties. We encourage you to carefully read the privacy statement of any third-party websites, vendors or products or services you use.
a) When using our AI Tools, including RemitGPT (available through ChatGPT), certain user inputs or interactions may be transmitted to OpenAI for processing. OpenAI acts as a separate controller for that data, and their privacy practices (including potential use for model improvement) govern it. Please review OpenAI's Privacy Policy at https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy for details. We encourage you to manage your OpenAI data controls (e.g., opting out of model training) directly in your OpenAI account if applicable.
b) Other privacy policies that may apply depending on your usage of the Services include:

10) Notice Concerning the Information of Minors. RemitFinder is not directed to children under the age of 18 and does not intentionally collect any personal information from children under the age of 18. Please contact us if your child has provided personal information to us and we will delete the personal information by contacting us at info@remitfinder.com detailing where the content or information is posted.
11) Content Moderation. Our team employs both automated systems and human moderation to monitor content shared on our Services. These systems are designed to detect, review, and remove content that violates our policies. All reported content may be reviewed, and we may take necessary action, including removal of content, termination and banning of offending accounts, and, where appropriate, reporting to relevant authorities.
12) User Reporting Mechanisms. We may from time to time provide tools for users to report prohibited and inappropriate content and behavior. Our support team investigates reports and takes appropriate action in accordance with our policies.
13) International Data Transfers. We may transfer personal information to countries other than the country in which the data was originally collected. These countries may not have the same data protection laws as the country in which you initially provided the personal information. When we transfer your personal information to other countries, we will protect that information as described in this Policy or as otherwise required by applicable law.
14) Changes to This Policy. We may change this Policy from time to time. If we make any changes to this Policy, we will change the "Date Last Updated" above. We encourage you to review this Policy whenever you visit the Website or Services to understand how your personal information is used.
15) Social Login. RemitFinder offers optional registration and login using third-party identity providers such as Google or Facebook ("Social Login").
a) User-Initiated Activation - We do not preload, initialize, or connect to social identity provider services when you visit our website. Social authentication scripts and related network calls are activated only when you deliberately click a "Sign in with" button. If you do not click such a button, no connection is made to those services.
b) Information Received - If you choose Social Login, the provider may share limited information including: First name, last name, email address, and platform-specific user identifier. This information is used solely to authenticate you and provide access to your RemitFinder account. We do not receive or store your password for the social platform.
c) Cookies and Third-Party Technologies - When you use Social Login, the selected provider may place cookies or use similar technologies according to their own privacy policies. These technologies are controlled by the provider and not by RemitFinder.
