Remitly ratings and reviews
I used to use Remitly exclusively because it has a really good FX. However, lately it has the worst FX. RemitFinder advertises a high FX rate (today it was advertised at 7.7XXX) but because it was not my first time using Remitly, my rate was 7.56XX - hardly a good rate at all.
Good
The rate is great for the first send. But after that, it has the lowest exchange rate. I suggest that one should check every detail like the exchange rate, fees, etc because this is like trying to lure you because it has a good rate but it actually has the worst rate.
I am moving out of the country for few months and Remitly makes it difficult to transfer my own money to myself through one friend in Ghana. I have a very low limit and if I try to raise it to a bit more I am refused even if I can prove that I have the money to send and I do not know why. Otherwise, it is a really good company and the customer service is really good. But I will have to find another company so I am not blocked while I am oversea because of the limit.
My account got banned after transferring 2 times to my fiance in the Philippines. And the costumer service is gone off the deep end by claiming it was my own fault without any reason given.
Overall good experience. Rates tend to be competitive, but you have to time it right.
Very good remit rates. But can only send 2 lac to India per transaction. It will be good if that limit could be higher.
Remitly recently updated their website and it has helped create a better customer experience. The rate is also usually pretty good. The time taken to transfer funds is slower than some other providers, but overall a very good experience.
